ATHLETIC DIRECTOR (SUPPLEMENTAL POSITION)
Location: High School and Middle School (Supplemental Position)
Supervisor: Director of Student Activities
Salary: $13,165 (Level 1; Prorated for the 2021-22 SY)
According to the Terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement
POSITION SUMMARY:
This supplemental position will work collaboratively with the athletics staff, school administration, and faculty, and the Director of Student Activities to provide dedicated support to the high school athletic program. The athletic director must have strong leadership skills and represent the school in a way that reflects our values and standards.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the supervision and game management of after-school, evening, and weekend practices and contests for the high school program. Assist the middle school athletic director with supervision and game management when requested.
- Be visible at athletic events, including banquets and awards ceremonies, and help to promote the athletic programs.
- Assist with the recruitment of qualified coaches. Provide mentorship, support, and feedback to coaches. Provide input into coaches’ evaluations.
- Collaborate with the athletics coordinator on scheduling logistics and help to resolve scheduling conflicts.
- Collaborate with the athletic training staff to implement protocols that promote safety for athletes, coaches, and spectators.
- Collaborate with the athletics office manager on equipment management and assist with responding to general inquiries.
- Participate in committee work and professional development.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Experienced in sports, coaching, and/or recreation management.
- Ability to work after school, evening, and weekend hours.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain and establish effective relationships.
